The Operator

Edited, mixed, and mastered Narrative Soundscape in ProTools. "The Operator" follows the story of an average elevator operator taking people to their designated floors. Some destinations however, are almost unimaginable...surely this elevator operator isn't 'normal' right? In this project, the main challenge I wanted to perfect was making the listener feel like they were in an entirely new environment whenever the doors opened. Ambient layering was my best friend, and I ensured that frequency shifts were emphasized by environment so the audience could grasp a 'light & airy' or 'resonant & vast' feel. Automating the EQ of the voices was quite fun, as it helped the Operator feel like an omnipotent being by the end. I hope you enjoy!
